Raise Your Glass For A Virtual Cheers
Spring is often the perfect time to visit wineries, but with concerns of COVID-19 on the rise, wineries and tasting rooms are shutting down and encouraging customers to practice social distancing. To stay engaged with customers, Oregon wineries are finding creative ways to interact online, here are some wineries offering interesting tastings experiences and virtual happy hours:
The Vintages Trailer Resort in Dayton has recently introduced in-trailer virtual wine tasting with Winter Hills Estate. Book a stay and enjoy wine country without ever leaving your trailer! Every purchase of the Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris comes complete with tasting notes and an exclusive virtual Tasting Room experience. Sip and savor while the pros guide you through your bottle of choice via video chat!
Local Tualatin Valley wineries have also started offering virtual wine tastings and cooking demonstrations. Alloro Vineyards has recently launched an online interactive tastings with their head winemaker, Tom Fitzpatrick. These small-group tasting programs will immerse tasters in the knowledge and process to “Taste Like a Winemaker.”
Sokol Blosser Winery is hosting weekly happy hours on Wednesdays at 4 pm PST from the Sokol Blosser Estate via Instagram Live @sokolblosser or @evolutionwine! You can pour yourself a glass of your favorite wine, or you can order the wine the hosts will be enjoying and toast with them! They’ll be talking about the wines, sharing winery stories, and trying to decide if geese or sheep provide the best fertilizer!
Raptor Ridge Winery is offering a virtual tour of their vineyards and has put together an online video series where you can follow along and explore four AVAs with $99 bundles of three bottles delivered to your doorstep, or available for curbside pick-up by appointment at the winery.
